The ability to relate to peers and supervisors, accepting guidance with a positive attitude.
Skills to teach and assist in various camp activities while encouraging camper participation.
Preparedness to be spontaneous and silly—sometimes the best moments come from unexpected fun!
Strong problem-solving abilities and responsiveness to the needs of campers and adults alike.
Exceptional character, integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, humor, and patience to lead by example.

Requirements
Age:
Head Counselors: Must possess a high school diploma or be at least 18 years old.
Junior Counselors: Must have a valid work permit if under 18.
Commitment:
Available to work the entire summer (Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM) with no more than 4 absences (a 5th absence is allowed for school-related reasons).
Certifications:
First Aid and CPR preferred (or willing to obtain before camp).
Additional certifications in lifeguarding or specialty activities are a bonus!
Understanding and adherence to camp rules, policies, and philosophy.
Willingness to participate in training sessions before camp begins.
General Responsibility
As a Summer Camp Counselor, your primary responsibility is to identify and meet camper needs, ensuring they have a positive, fun, and enriching camp experience.
Primary Responsibilities
Ensure Camper Safety:
Supervise campers at all times, ensuring their physical and emotional safety.
Follow and enforce camp rules and safety protocols.
Lead Activities:
Plan, organize, and lead engaging activities, including sports, arts, swimming, and team-building games.
Adapt activities to meet the needs of different age groups and skill levels.
Provide Support and Guidance:
Act as a mentor, role model, and source of encouragement for campers.
Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment.
Assist with Daily Operations:
Help with camp setup, cleanup, and transitions between activities.
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
Camper Interaction:
Build strong relationships with campers, helping them feel welcomed and valued.
Address camper concerns or conflicts with patience, understanding, and problem-solving skills.
Encourage teamwork, cooperation, and friendship among campers.
Behavior Management:
Promote positive behavior and manage challenging situations constructively.
Communicate effectively with parents and camp leadership about any concerns.
Swimming and Outdoor Supervision:
Participate in and supervise daily swimming activities (situational accommodations can be made).
Ensure all campers follow water safety rules.
Monitor campers during outdoor play and ensure a safe environment.
